Carl Stephenson.
1893 - 1954.

Carl Stephenson was born in Germany. He is best known for his short story Leiningen Versus the Ants. It is said that the Leiningen story, published in 1938, is the only story that he would allow to be published during his lifetime. The story was adapted into a radio play in 1948 and a movie called "The Naked Jungle" in 1954. Other Stephenson works were published posthumously, including several historical non-fiction books
